BRIDGE OF HOPE MISSION FIELDS BECOME A PARTNER BREAKTHROUGH

Venezuela

Torrential rains near the coast of Venezuela caused massive mudslides killing 100,000 and leaving over 400,000 homeless. Equivalent to the country’s average annual precipitation, nearly three feet of rain fell in two days on an already saturated ground. Sediment, boulders and vegetation uprooted from the mountainside crushed tens of thousands of homes and subsequent food supplies. What resources and belongings were spared by the disaster were stolen by area gangs as they ransacked abandoned apartments.

Bridge of Hope partners immediately responded by sending 250,000 pounds of food and medical supplies directly into the heart of Venezuela’s destruction. Without decided, indisputable action taken by those committed to the BOH mission, thousands more would not have lived to tell about the tragedy. Immediate needs were met in love and abundance as the BOH pathway built by partners and friends created a line of communication from the Heavenly Father to the hearts of suffering people.
