Between war efforts that destroy struggling food crops and medical facilities and the alternately rainy and drought seasons, famine and disease have become common occurrences in many regions of Sudan. With a lack of sufficient food and medical supplies available to nourish the already impoverished people, people are dying every day. Those who are most susceptible in these times of famine are the widows and orphans, those who cannot provide for themselves…the very ones who need help the most, rarely receive it.
