Death has no sting
A week ago on Pentecost Sunday, we received vials of oil at World Harvest Church. Pastor hadn't planned on giving them to people, but he felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to do so.

Upon leaving church, I received a call from my sister, who had heard from the hospital that my mother's condition was critical. She was diagnosed with a large tumor--small cell lung cancer, and the tumor was cutting off her heart valve and her windpipe. She was being ventilated at 100%. Her body swelled up like a blown up hot water bottle from the waist up because her heart wasn't circulating anything. Her face tripled in size ... her hands so swollen that her skin popped and trickles of fluid drained out spontaneously.

I immediately rushed to the hopsital from church and anointed her with the oil that was passed out. Much prayer was being said by her church family back in the Ohio Valley, and I updated a blog and my Facebook account to keep people informed. The love and support from others encouraged me.

The doctor called my husband, sister and me into a room and told us to "consider our options" because things were bleak. They could "make her comfortable". However, I know that my redeemer lives, and just as we can't save ourselves, we can't heal ourselves.

Relying on God's promises, I stood. I anointed her again and told the Lord that I needed more time and asked Him to do for my mother what He did for Betty Baxter--show up, and show Himself strong!

The next day, instead of being 100% ventilated, she was at 45%. Fluids started to come off her body. In just a few days following, at least 20 pounds of fluids were gone. God has truly granted us a miracle for more time, defying death.

I'm still standing for my mother's complete healing, although the doctors told her that there is no "cure" for small cell lung cancer. The survival rate for progressed tumors isn't good. Nevertheless, I know God is able to do exceeding, abundantly above ALL I can ask or think, according to the power that works within me. The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives within me. Faith, hope and love resides in my heart--and the greatest of these is love.

Please continue to pray for my mother, Shirley, as she needs another miracle. However, I simply needed to give thanks and praise to God for responding to faith and believing prayer, and for Pastor Parsley's obedience to the Holy Spirit to "OUTPOUR" to his congregation.
