7 Days of Divine Embrace: Day 1
Feast of Tabernacles - Teaching Email Series | Seven Days of Divine Embrace

Today we begin the last portion of the Tabernacles feast season: the Feast of Tabernacles.

Of course, the Tabernacles season begins with Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets), and includes the 10 Days of Awe leading into Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). Listen now as I introduce the seventh and final festival of God and the beginning of the “Seven Days of Divine Embrace.”

The scriptures record God’s commands concerning the Feast of Tabernacles in Leviticus 23:33-34: “The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to the children of Israel, saying: The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord.” Verse 41 continues, “You shall keep it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It shall be a perpetual statute in your generations.”

This feast is a great opportunity for remembrance and for gratitude. Sukkot, the Hebrew name for the Feast of Tabernacles, is a time God invites everyone to encounter His love. It is a time to celebrate with others and to share in God’s teachings. Observant Jews today build temporary shelters on rooftops and in backyards… even on balconies. These are called “sukkah,” or “booths.” The booth must have at least three sides and must be large enough to house the entire family as well as guests, for the Feast of Tabernacles is very much about inviting others, even outside of God’s community, to celebrate His goodness as well.

That is something to celebrate! God arranged an entire feast season to illustrate His desire for fellowship with us. Of the three major times of God’s divine appointments, this one was designed to be a celebration of living in the presence of God. Its significance was not limited to one people group or one season of history. The Bible says it is a “perpetual statute in your generations.” Tabernacles has much to teach us today about God’s presence, and how we can properly respond to and benefit from His invitation to come into His fullness and enjoy His benefits.

This invitation includes everyone, but is particularly important to all who have been abandoned, abused, betrayed, or broken.

There is help for you from the heart of a God who heals, delivers, and redeems! He has not forgotten about you. He has called your name, and is waiting for your response. You can tabernacle with Him today. Don’t put it off. Plan to celebrate His love, His goodness, His mercy, and His faithfulness during these Seven Days of Divine Embrace.

Be sure to send in your prayer needs as we will celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles on Sunday, October 23. I will pray over your requests – for God to release FIVE SUPERNATURAL BLESSINGS upon you.

Yours for the harvest,

Pastor Rod Parsley
