Day 5 – Authority!

Dear Friend,

I hope you are enjoying and being blessed by this email teaching series! This is the fifth day of our 7 Days of Transformation.

There are perks and privileges when you’re a child of a King!

In ancient days, a person of authority would wear a ring with a personalized seal on it to stamp documents with proof of their authority.

In the story of the Prodigal Son, when the Father ran to greet his son who came home after squandering his inheritance, his father put a robe, a ring, and sandals on him. He was restoring the son back to his rightful place in the family and giving him back his authority.

When you and I received the promised Holy Spirit of God as a seal, it wasn’t just some third watered-down version of God we received. The Holy Spirit is every bit as much God as God the Father and every bit as much God as God the Son.

The very Spirit of the Creator – the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ – dwells within us. How can we NOT walk in His authority?

But what does that mean, if it isn’t to do as Christ did?

• Where people were lost and willing to receive His grace by faith, He saved them!
• If there was sickness, He healed it.
• If there was a demonic spirit, He cast it out.
• If there was a storm, He calmed it.
• If there was a need, He met it because of His confidence in the limitlessness of the love of God!

Following in Jesus’ footsteps must mean something … it must mark us in a unique way. In fact, the Gospel according to Matthew and Mark record what it would look like:

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.’” – Matthew 16:24

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” - Mark 16:17-18

The Apostle Paul also wrote in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

It’s time for every believer to stand up and take their rightful place as a son or daughter of an Almighty King and take back the territory the enemy holds – including your unsaved loved ones!
